Nita Friedman, LCSW-R
Nita Friedman is a social worker and psychoanalyst who works with adults, couples and adolescents both at Maverick and in private practice. She sees therapy as a collaborative process that cultivates one’s capacities to manage difficulties, to heal and thrive.
Depending on the needs and interests of each person, Nita uses psychodynamic, cognitive and body-based modalities to work across a broad range of issues, such as:
Relationship and family problems, personality issues, depression and anxiety, trauma processing, aging, bereavement and existential concerns. She also does in-depth psychoanalytic work with those who might be functioning well but wish to deepen their understanding and awareness of themselves and their life experience.
Nita received a MSW from the Smith College School for Social Work and did her Psychoanalytic Training at the William Alanson White Institute, NYC. She also has post-graduate training in trauma work and Somatic Experiencing.
