AMIE ANDERSON, LMSW

Amie Rose Anderson, LMSW (she/her), values therapy as an opportunity for connection, empowerment, and exploration. She approaches her work with adults, adolescents, and children from a strengths-based, collaborative framework, creating an environment where clients can express themselves fully and explore areas of their lives where they feel inhibited, distressed, or unable to move forward. Amie has experience working with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship challenges, ADHD, body-based oppression, and trauma. Working within a Body Liberation framework, Amie welcomes anyone who has lived with body-based oppression due to skin color, body size, gender, and the expansive variety of intersectional identities. Her work is also Health at Every Size aligned, and supports Intuitive Eating practices. Amie has a passion for work around gender and sexuality, and specializes in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, identity work around gender, exploring masculinity in the modern world, and romantic relationships of all structures. Every therapeutic relationship is different, and Amie walks alongside her clients on the journey toward understanding, agency, and relief.

Amie’s work centers discovery, curiosity, laughter, pleasure, and play. Her psychodynamic relational approach incorporates experiential elements, such as working with art and creative expression alongside exploration of personal narrative and examination of the systems we all exist within. A longtime resident of the Hudson Valley, Amie began her career in schools, teaching and offering support to parents and caregivers. Amie’s expertise in attachment issues spans from early childhood, through the teenage years, and into the strong bonds of adulthood.
