DAFNA FINKLER, LCSW, CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

Dafna (she/her) sees the work of healing and transformation as a collaborative undertaking.  She comes to this work from a heart-centered approach informed by her understanding of attachment, early childhood, and adult development. Dafna has an expanding interest in Jungian thought, dreams, and archetypes, as well as their use as catalysts of personal growth and healing with both children and adults.  Her work with adults is psychodynamically oriented, while also informed by somatic approaches (Somatic Experiencing), guided imagery and integration of clients’ non-ordinary states of consciousness.

Dafna has trained as a parent-child dyadic therapist, and trauma specialist at UCSF, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and has worked in that capacity in various community settings. She has also consulted and served child care centers in the San Francisco Bay Area as an Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist. Dafna holds a BFA in photography, MS.Ed in Infancy, and a Masters in Social Work.  She is currently enrolled in a three-year Somatic Experiencing professional training program.

Dafna is fluent in Hebrew and Spanish.  She is deeply committed to the work of allyship on issues of acculturation, diversity and oppression.  Dafna is also a Clinical Group Supervisor at MPG.
