FANON FRAZIER, MSW-lp

Fanon (he/him) is a psychodynamic social worker who applies integrated theories and modalities, though is informed mostly by his own journey and learning from teachers and mentors. He holds deep space and presence of mind for the whole person, including his clients’ environment, struggles, relationships, beliefs, and the other complicated areas of life. He has worked with individuals (early adolescents and up), couples, and families – around life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, and other diagnoses. His work is influenced by such modalities as dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, interpersonal psychodynamic therapy, and somatic interventions. Actively empathizing with people has always been important to Fanon in his previous careers as an ESL (TEFL) educator, youth counselor, and community organizer. He strives to support clients in recognizing their unique truth, healing, or the energy they seek to grow.

Fanon was born in Kingston, NY, raised partially in Woodstock, spent his formative years in Albany, NY, then lived in Harlem and Japan. He received his MSW from the Smith School for Social Work.
