FELIX SIMPSON, LMSW

Felix Simpson (they/them) uses an integrated approach to improve the self-esteem and self-worth of their clients while empowering them to build healthy relationships in their own lives.  Human connections come in many forms, and Felix honors and has experience working with polyamorous and monogamous relationships.

Felix likes to empower clients by helping them develop tools to handle the stress, anxiety, depression, and other struggles they may face. Using a systemic approach, they acknowledge how factors such as trauma, interpersonal relationships, community, institutions, and society may all contribute to these issues experienced within you. Felix also puts emphasis on navigating relationships such as family, romantic, and platonic, through developing healthy communication and boundary skills as part of building a strong support network and community.

Felix graduated from the University at Albany with their MSW. They specialize in working with queer and trans individuals and racially marginalized folks through an intersectional liberation framework. In sessions, Felix provides an open space for clients to explore their identities and their relationship to oppressive institutions and systems. As a therapist it is important to Felix to understand the context in which clients with marginalized identities navigate through society as that can greatly affect mental health and community support.  They love facilitating identity exploration in a space that emphasizes agency, with no pressure or expectations.
