IVY ROSE CARDILLO, LMSW

Ivy Rose Cardillo (she/her) is a psychodynamic therapist who prioritizes authentic connection, reflective insight, emotional exploration, and deep curiosity. She utilizes an integrative approach, drawing from relational, family systems, somatic, and emotion-focused therapies, with the intention of meeting each individual, in each moment, with an open and flexible perspective. Ivy Rose works with individuals managing relationship challenges, family conflict, life transitions, trauma, grief and loss, and mood disruptions as well as individuals and families during the perinatal period.

It is Ivy Rose’s foundational belief that we learn the most about ourselves when we consider our interactions with others. She brings to the therapeutic space a rich curiosity about how we experience our relationships, past and present, which she finds is key to deepening our understanding of ourselves and our suffering. Through the safety, exploration, and vulnerability cultivated within the therapeutic relationship Ivy Rose has found that insight and emotional awareness can be discovered and deepened. Ultimately, meaningful relationships and connection to our emotional experience have the potential to transform our ability to meet ourselves with compassion, face the world with a sense of agency, and move through our experiences with empowerment.

Ivy Rose received her MSW from Smith College School of Social Work where she studied psychodynamic therapy. After working as a birth doula, perinatal yoga instructor, options counselor, and therapist within a reproductive health clinic, she is especially adept working with those intending to birth, those who seek to support them, and parents navigating difficult decisions and loss. Over years spent conducting sociological research she cultivated a deep understanding of the role sociocultural factors play in determining our experiences and in contextualizing our suffering. She appreciates the opportunity to collaborate with individuals of diverse backgrounds and intersecting identities.
