KATHERINE YOUNG, LMHC

Katherine Young (she/her) approaches the sacred work of therapy from a spirit of presence. She believes that what brings you in and what you want to explore lead therapist and client down a path together. She aims to journey with you, offering support where needed, mirroring your integral wholeness, and allowing you to guide. Katherine offers questions, inquiries, and explorations along the way. The past, in different forms, will likely emerge in the context of what you are exploring now. Katherine appreciates systems theory and sees each person both as sovereign, as well as embedded in many systems. In terms of theoretical underpinning, she aligns with a non-dual, Rogerian presence, as well as narrative, solutions-oriented, and somatic theories. Most of all, Katherine hopes to co-create with her clients a haven that nourishes and supports. She focuses particularly on mindfulness, spirituality, sexuality, and the integration of body and mind.

For most of her adult life, Katherine has lived overseas, beginning in England, then moving to Athens, Greece; Lugano, Switzerland; Taipei, Taiwan; and Rome, Italy. She returned to the United States, where she grew up, to take an internship in suicide prevention and family therapy in Santa Fe, New Mexico, returning, again to Rome to practice therapy and serve as the Community Wellness Counselor at an international school. After much time abroad, Katherine is delighted to now call the Hudson Valley home.
