LAUREN FREDERICO, LMSW

Lauren Frederico (she/her) is a queer, anti-racist, and trauma-informed therapist specializing in LGBTQ+ youth and adults. Lauren offers a warm and collaborative approach to therapy, and strongly believes clients are the expert of their own experiences. Lauren works with clients to address a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, complex family dynamics, and attachment issues.

Lauren provides a non-judgmental space for clients to explore the impact of past events, identify ongoing challenges, and imagine new opportunities for the future. Lauren works collaboratively with clients to identify therapeutic goals, and utilizes tarot cards as a visual therapeutic tool for self-exploration.

Lauren graduated from Smith College with a bachelor’s degree in the Study of Women and Gender, and earned her MSW from Silberman School of Social at Hunter College, where she also served as an Adjunct Professor. Prior to joining Maverick, Lauren spent over a decade as a community organizer, program director, and policy advocate working to end discrimination against trans and non-binary youth in schools, dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline, and further meaningful reproductive justice in New York and nationally.
