Sherry F. Adams (she/her) received her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. She provides a safe and inclusive environment for adults to explore who they have been, who they are, and who they want to be.

Prior to her work in mental health, Sherry spent 15 years in the corporate sector, her transition into psychotherapy has been written about in Oprah Daily. Sherry acknowledges how her lived experience informs her therapeutic work, and she shares her story with the intention of opening an exploration of passion, authenticity, and hope with her clients. Sherry often incorporates her roots in art, and credits her experience at UNC Greensboro, where she earned a BFA in Painting in 2004. Sherry believes creativity promotes diversity of thought and sharpens her visual thinking. 

As a clinician, Sherry believes a sense of belonging and a compassionate relationship with oneself and others are the keys to wellness. She works with her clients across diverse socioeconomic, racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds and abilities to facilitate growth, direction, and purpose. She is especially devoted to working with clients through loss, grief, and mourning.

Sherry is passionate about the connection between mind and body in neuro-counseling. She is currently at an intermediate level in Somatic Experiencing®, a body-based approach to healing trauma by restoring balance to the nervous system. She was also a  research member of Northwestern University’s Neuroscience Integration Lab. 

Sherry supports and partners with her clients to:

  • Promote personal truth, purpose, and identity 

  • Reconstruct and rebuild inner worlds undercut by loss 

  • Strengthen and develop meaningful relationships with themselves and others
