Brian Pasquariello, LMSW
Brian (he/him) believes in therapy as being a sacred place for one to reflect, heal, explore, create, and to allow for that which is not yet known to grow. He utilizes patience and mindful attention in his practice, and enjoys helping clients to create new narratives after carefully contextualizing their circumstances and connecting to inner sources of wisdom and strength. Brian is especially passionate about supporting artists and creatives with challenges around doubt, finding one’s artistic voice, and pushing through creativity blocks. He also has experience working with grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, finding meaning and purpose in life, difficulties around identity, and major life transitions—especially young adulthood. In his practice, Brian is committed to maintaining a safe, non-discriminatory space for clients while being sensitive to the complex ways that oppression and inequity manifest in our systems and environments.
Having worked in community mental health settings for several years, Brian is interested in integrating his experience using evidence-based modalities with psychodynamic and other depth approaches to therapeutic work. He completed his graduate training in social work at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, a program anchored in contemporary psychoanalytic theory and practice. Prior to relocating to upstate New York from Philadelphia, Brian’s clinical experience included substance abuse treatment, academic research in mental health, college counseling, and inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
