Fanon Frazier, LMSW
Fanon (he/him) is a psychodynamic social worker who applies integrated theories and modalities to his work, and supports his clients’ ability to get closer to their true self. He holds deep space and presence of mind for the whole person, including one’s environment, struggles, relationships, beliefs, and the many complicated areas of life. Fanon has worked with individuals (early adolescents and up), couples, and families – around life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, and other diagnoses. His work is influenced by such modalities as dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, interpersonal psychodynamic therapy, and somatic interventions. He strives to support clients in recognizing their unique truth, healing, or the energy they seek to grow.
Fanon was born in Kingston, NY, raised partially in Woodstock, spent his formative years in Albany, NY, then lived in Harlem and Japan. He received his MSW from the Smith School for Social Work, and has previously worked as an ESL (TEFL) educator, youth counselor, and grassroots community organizer.
