Jess Hong (she/her) is Korean-American Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), and Clinical Supervisor. She practices with the intention that all beings have profound innate capacity in healing and connection with their lived experiences leading to shifts that allow one to gain deep insight into their own embodied resilience and vitality. Jess strongly believes the importance of meeting all with dignity and respect, honoring human life in community and environment, and holding space for the whole person in their lived experiences and all their intersecting identities. Her practice is comprised of various modalities that are trauma-informed, psychodynamic, relational, attachment, and somatic based. Jess supports within the therapeutic relationship collaboratively, drawing upon each client’s internal and external states with an anti-oppressive and anti-racist framework.
Jess has over a decade of experience working with infants, children, adolescents, adults and their families with diverse and intersecting identities, and complex mental health needs in New York City community mental health. Jess supports clients with experiences of Trauma/PTSD (complex and acute), grief/loss/bereavement, attachment issues, anxiety, depression, global work stress/burnout, and various life transitions. Along with her experience as a clinician, she is experienced in clinical supervision, clinical consultation, facilitating therapy groups, mental health program development and management, and developing and presenting at local, national, and international trainings and conferences. Jess is currently offering Somatic Experiencing® Personal Sessions for students in Beginning level.
